This probably won't help your situation, but I had a 1997 silverado with a 6" lift and 35's on her. I had the same play your talking about. It seemed the play was in the steering column but it stopped at the steering gear. I replaced the steering gear, adjusted the lash and replaced the pitman arm without any luck. Web28 mei 2024 · Some guys actually use a die grinder and cut the idler knuckle a slice top to bottom . you have to be so careful though as to not mess up the connector. meaning you have to stop short of going all the way through and then whack it with a hammer and cole chisel to spread it apart.
