We surveyed farmers to describe the outbreak, the demographics and rabies prophylaxis administered to householders on case farms, and farmers' knowledge of rabies prevention and treatment. WebAn on-going rabies outbreak affecting humans, dogs and cats was first detected in the southern region of Sarawak in July 2024. As of 9 September 2024, a total of 25 human rabies cases have been reported in Sarawak. There is no effective antiviral treatment once the rabies symptoms appear.
