On the finite volume element method
Web15 de fev. de 2007 · In this paper, by use of affine biquadratic elements, we construct and analyze a finite volume element scheme for elliptic equations on quadrilateral meshes. The scheme is shown to be of second-order in H 1-norm, provided that each quadrilateral in partition is almost a parallelogram. Web4 de nov. de 2024 · In this paper, a two-grid mixed finite volume element (MFVE) algorithm is presented for the nonlinear time fractional reaction-diffusion equations, where the Caputo fractional derivative is approximated by the classical $ L1 $-formula. The coarse and fine grids (containing the primal and dual grids) are constructed … WebThe Finite Volume Method (FVM) is one of the most versatile discretization techniques used in CFD. Based on the control volume formulation of analytical fluid dynamics, the first step in the FVM is to divide the domain into a number of control volumes (aka cells, elements) where the variable of interest is located at the centroid of the control volume.
Web13 de mar. de 2013 · The finite volume element method (FVEM) [4–12] is an important discretization technique for partial differential equations, especially those that arise from physical conservation laws.
